Millions of Hindi cinema enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the release of “Gadar 2”. This discussion differs from the situation of Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2” at the box office. Based on reports, preliminary estimates suggest the likelihood of Sunny Deol’s new film making a strong debut upon its theatrical release.

Preparations for a big impact at the box office have been set for Friday with Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2”. The film has already earned around 10 crore rupees during the advance booking phase and has sold approximately 1.25 lakh tickets within just 24 hours. The excitement among the fans is palpable, especially with Sunny Deol back on the big screen after 22 years, prominently featured in this sequel.

On the other hand, the situation for advance booking of Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2” is not as promising. The film has not reached even 1 lakh tickets in advance sales so far. However, there is hope that the situation will improve with the opening of advance bookings on Thursday.
Directed by Anil Sharma, “Gadar 2” has been working to revive the sluggish box office for the past three to four months. The release of the film’s poster alone boosted enthusiasm among viewers as Sunny Deol was seen holding a hammer. The subsequent teaser, trailer, and songs have all contributed to invoking nostalgic memories, as reported by Sacnilk. Advance bookings for “Gadar 2” have already reached 3,91,975 tickets nationwide. Notably, 1.25 lakh tickets were sold on Wednesday alone.
There is a concern about the partial amount of 12 crore rupees for advance booking by Thursday.
Prior to its release, “Gadar 2” has already earned a remarkable 9.94 crore rupees through advance bookings until Wednesday night. It is expected that the pace of advance booking will pick up even further by the upcoming Thursday. Thus, “Gadar 2” is poised to start its opening day with advance bookings amounting to 11-12 crore rupees. The Delhi-NCR region has already filled 38% of its seats for the first day’s advance booking. Furthermore, in Chennai and Jaipur, this number exceeds 45%. In Rajasthan’s Alwar, advance bookings for 95-100% of seats have been completed, and around 70% of seats have been booked in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, for the opening day.
It is estimated that “Gadar 2” might earn around 40-45 crore rupees on its opening day.
“Gadar 2” is set to release on over 3500 screens nationwide, starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, and Manish Wadhwa. The film’s advance booking phase indicates a potential net collection of 40-45 crore rupees on the opening day. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean it will surpass the record of “Pathan”, which earned 55 crore rupees on its opening day in Hindi. It is likely that “Gadar 2” could comfortably surpass 100-110 crore rupees in net collections within its first week.

The film “Gadar 2” will be released on over 3500 screens, featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles. This film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. On August 11, “Gadar 2” will be released on over 3500 screens across the country.
Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2”
The pre-booking situation for “OMG 2”: On the other hand, the pre-booking status for Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2” seems to be gathering interest. According to reports, as of Wednesday night, a total of 55,048 tickets have been pre-booked for this film, resulting in a revenue of approximately 1.68 crore rupees. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, and Arun Govil alongside Akshay Kumar. The film has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board, leading to some controversy. On its opening day, the film is projected to earn around 8-12 crore rupees in net collections.
Akshay Kumar’s last five films have been consecutive flops.
While “Gadar 2” is expected to make a strong impact at the box office from day one, “OMG 2” might face challenges in attracting audiences. The earnings of “OMG 2” largely depend on word-of-mouth reviews. If the film is well-received by audiences, its earnings might increase over the weekend. Akshay Kumar’s last five consecutive films have been box office failures. In this context, he needs a hit film to turn the tide.
